Salento Montmartre
About This Spot
Stepping into Salento Montmartre feels like discovering a small slice of Italy tucked away amidst the lively streets of Paris’s 9th arrondissement. This intimate Italian restaurant welcomes you with a warm, unpretentious charm where time slows just enough to savor good company and honest food. The space is cozy—a quiet corner spot often running at full but never rushed—inviting visitors to settle into a leisurely meal and soak in the relaxed rhythm of Montmartre life.
The atmosphere is quietly vibrant but never overwhelming. With just a few tables and a focused team quietly working in harmony, Salento exudes the comforting intimacy of a neighborhood trattoria. There’s a gentle hum of conversation paired with the delicate clink of wine glasses, offering a feeling that’s both familiar and special, as if curated for those who appreciate genuine moments over spectacle.
The culinary experience here is remarkably grounded in simplicity and care. Fresh, homemade pasta takes center stage, bringing a soulful authenticity to each plate. From penne dressed in rich, tangy tomato sauces to more indulgent preparations featuring velvety truffle cream or slow-cooked veal ragù, the dishes feel lovingly crafted—hearty and generous without fuss. Alongside these, risottos and classic Italian desserts carry the quiet assurance of tradition done well.
Complementing the food is a modest but thoughtfully chosen wine list, inviting guests to sip on sparkling proseccos or a glass of Emilia Romagna’s Lambrusco, creating moments of subtle pleasure between bites. The attentive, personal service here enhances the overall experience—friendly without intrusiveness, making you feel as if you’ve found one of Montmartre’s cherished local treasures rather than a typical restaurant.
Salento Montmartre is a place to linger, to share, and to enjoy Italian flavors that resonate with warmth and authenticity—a modest gem where the simple joys of good food and quiet conviviality are savored at their best.

Salento Restaurant offers a nice Italian dining experience at the heart of Montmartre. The casual ambiance, combined with attentive service, makes it worth visiting. The menu boasts a range of Italian dishes that cater to various tastes. From classic pastas , Salento delivers on quality and taste. What's particularly appealing are the generous weekday discounts for lunch available when booking through The Fork.

A charming little restaurant specializing in fresh pasta and risotto. The dishes were hearty and flavorful, made with fresh ingredients. The server was exceptionally kind and polite, which added to the warm atmosphere.

Tiny hole in the wall that over delivers on quality, cost, and service. Absolutely divine pasta with great service and a good wine list.

Having spent several days in Italy before arriving in France, I never thought I'd find better pasta; but I did, here in Paris. It's a quaint little place that just exudes charm. From what I could tell, it's a two-man operation; one in the kitchen and another at the front of the house handling service. The homemade pasta, paired with an Italian red wine, was absolutely delicious. All three of us were very pleased with both the meal and the experience. I would recommend making a reservation as the seating is limited and it was busy during out time there (a weekday). The dining area is small but that's what gives this place its charm. There is also patio seating near the street. If you're in the area, definitely worth stopping in.

Been here twice and very much happy with the outcome. Portion is a little too big (especially for pasta) but the taste is very original. Plus, the tiramisu is very soft and delicious. Book in advance before coming to make sure you have place as the restaurant is quite small.

An excellent hole in the wall: you might pass it on the street but don't. Turn around and go in. Good to have a reservation as there are only a few tables. We had the vins du choix (rouge, blanc, et rose) and they were all fantastic.

The place is small yet very cozy. The food was sufficient and tasteful. Very nice Italian restaurant. I recommend you book prior because given the small space, the tables are quickly reserved. Also, people tend to look for pizza but it is not on the menu. If you really want to eat pizza then maybe try a street food restaurant. However, if you are looking for freshly made pasta with each spoon sending a taste of Italy, then you should try the place.

We had lunch here and also did a take-out. The staff was very friendly and the food was great too. Especially their Tiramisu was so delicious.
